四万十川の上流に位置する森深い滑床渓谷には、
奇跡の軟水と呼ばれる水源があります。
やわらかいその水は、木々や生物を育み豊かな森を守ってきました。
雨は土へと降り注ぎ、 時には夜明けにのぼり立つ朝霧として、
時にはよもぎの葉脈のあいだで、時には私たち人間や動物の生命の体内において、
豊かで澄んだ水がめぐります。
自然のままにあるということはとても難しくて、でも、できるだけそうありたい、
滑床渓谷の“森の国Valley”では、私たちみんながそう思いました。自然がそこに、
あるがままの姿であることに寄り添うような生活。分けてもらった恵みを、
知恵と経験によって手を加え、楽しむ方法。続けていく、という手探り。
それが「moriamu」の使命です。じっくりと、
この星に生まれたことを見つめる時間を作り出します。
Nametoko Gorge, nestled in the upper reaches of the Shimanto River, is a miraculous source of soft water that has nurtured life and enriched the forests since time immemorial. Rainfall on the soil returns in many different forms-as morning mist, through the veins of a mugwort leaf, in the bodies of human beings and other creatures-in an endless cycle of rich, clear water. Natural living is difficult, but the effort is worth making: this is the philosophy in Nametoko Gorge’s “Mori-no-Kuni Valley”. Nature is a constant companion here, and what is natural guides our way of life. Accepting the natural blessing of the water with gratitude, we take a small portion to process and enjoy using wisdom and experience in an ongoing process of trial and error. This is moriamu’s mission. We create moments for studied reflection on the fact of our birth on this planet.
森の国Valleyでは、四万十川源流の恵みに感謝し、あめつち（天地）の声に耳をすませ、地球と人が健康に生きる社会を目指しています。
森、農、食、医、育。
日々の暮らしの中で、それらのつながりを感じることがどのくらいあるでしょうか。ここ森の国Valleyでは、営みの中でそのつながりを感じることができます。森から流れくる水も、ふわふわの土も、のびのびと育つ野菜も人間も。すべてはつながり、相互に関係しあい、営みの中でめぐっています。そのあたり前の循環を、わたしたちは “あめつちの心” で伝えていきます。
In Mori-no-Kuni Valley, we give thanks for the Shimanto River’s blessings, attend to the heart of nature, and work to build a healthy society for both people and the planet.
Forest, farm, food, medicine, education. How strongly do you feel the connections between these things in your everyday routine? Here in Mori-no-Kuni Valley, those connections are a palpable part of life. Water that flows from the forest, rich soil, produce and people growing healthy and strong: all are connected, all are interrelated, and all have their places in the cycle. We believe this is simply how life should be, and we call it the “heart of nature.”
